Well, not really... just news and updates...
July 10th, 2008
Am I jazzed!!! I was sitting on my deck, finishing up a late lunch (or early supper) at 3:24PM EST when I hear a vaguely familiar rumbling noise. All this morning and afternoon I've been messing around with a new camera, and so was fortunate enough to have it with me. Without a moment's hesitation, I grabbed the rig, popped off the lens cap, switched on, and swung the lens skyward...
Okay, I'll calm down now... I dunno which SNJ that was, but the Hawks were Kittyhawk I AK899 (Old Exterminator) and P-40M 43-5795 (The Jacky C. II). Sometimes it pays to sit on your rear all day with a camera in your hand...
That's it for now...
P-40E-1 41-25158 (RNZAF NZ3009) P-40N-1-CU 42-104730 (RAAF A29-448) P-40s at Classic Fighters 2007
Plus one P-36...
That's it for now...
An image of the sole P-40 to fall into Finnish hands has been added to the
In Captivity page.
I've made some adjustments since the update this morning...
In the Survivors section, there is now a new page
for the 2007 Geneseo Airshow, with photos of both
P-40s that attended... Kittyhawk I AK899, and
P-40M 43-5795. Each respective page for these Hawks
also includes a link to the new Geneseo 2007 page...
That's it for now...
That's it for now...
Genny 2008 is just around the corner! This year there will be a gathering of Warhawks, with as many as ten P-40s
scheduled to attend, including John Fallis' newly restored P-40N. This Hawk is a combat vet which saw service with
the 49th Fighter Group in the PTO. Also on the schedule is a Flying Tigers reunion... don't miss this folks!
